super quick chocoalte "fudge"
My love has a chocolate addiction that is rather gripping. There was a significant absence of chocolate treats, desserts, cookies, or other noshment in the house this week. Fortunately, I always keep a stash of chocolate chips, but there is something unsatisfying about eating them out of hand.
Pros: super quick and easy, pantry staples
Cons: minimal ingredients means you need better basic ingredients
Tools: double boiler or double boiler rig if being fancy; glass bowl in the microwave will do in a pinch.
spoon, 8x8 square or 9in round pan or something similar.
some foil, parchment or plastic wrap to line the pan
Basic Recipe: 3 minute chocolate "fudge" treat
2 c semisweet chocolate chips
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 T vanilla
line baking pan and set aside
empty can of milk in your double boiler, add vanilla, stir in chocolate chips stir until melted and combined
pour warm mixture into your prepared pan
chill in fridge until firm
Voila!
Options
2c chocolate chips substitute milk chocolate or bitter sweet chips
1T vanilla substitute mint, rum, almond, cherry, or other flavoring
stir in: other chips! like white chocolate, peanut butter, caramel or crushed candy like mints, toffee, mini M&Ms. Nuts and or dried fruit or crystallized ginger would also be yummy to stir in
I'd you are doing a stir in ingredient, you add them after everything is melted but sill in the pan.
